On February 27, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan attended the inauguration ceremony of the Huaxin Cement Plant Phase II project, undertaken by China Railway Construction Engineering Group East Africa Company. The Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania, Chen Mingjian, and Counselor Chu Kun, among others, were also present at the event.
President Hassan praised China Railway Construction Engineering Group East Africa Company for the high-quality and efficient completion of the project. She noted that the project created numerous job opportunities for local residents during the construction phase and, once operational, will indirectly promote economic prosperity in the surrounding communities, thereby effectively driving the rapid economic and social development of Tanga City.
The Huaxin Cement Plant Phase II project in Tanzania is one of the largest industrial investments by a Chinese company in the country. Located in Tanga City, Tanzania, the project involves the construction of a new dry-process cement production line with a daily output of 4,500 tons.
