Mr. Chen Wenjian,a senior engineer of the highest rank, graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University with a major in Structural Engineering and a concurrent major in Environmental Engineering from the Department of Environmental Engineering, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Later, he earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, UK. He currently serves as the Chairman of China Railway Group Limited, as well as the Chairman of China Railway Engineering Corporation.
Mr. Chen Wenjian began working in 1996; From January 2007 to September 2014, he served as General Manager of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Algeria Branch; From September 2014 to August 2016, he served as General Manager of the Overseas Business Division of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC); From August 2016 to December 2017, he served as General Manager of the Overseas Business Division of CSCEC; From December 2017 to June 2018, he served as General Manager of the Overseas Business Division of CSCEC, as well as General Manager of the Overseas Department; From June 2018 to October 2018, he served as General Manager and Chairman of the Overseas Department of CSCEC；From October 2018 to March 2020, he served as General Manager of the Overseas Department of CSCEC and Chairman of China State Construction International Engineering Co., Ltd., as well as Chairman of China State Construction (South Asia) Development Co., Ltd.; From March 2020 to November 2020, he served as Chairman of China State Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd.;
Mr. Chen Wenjian joined China Railway Group Limited in November 2020. From November 2020 to December 2020, he served as General Manager and Director of China Railway Engineering Corporation; From December 2020 to February 2025, he served as President and Executive Director of China Railway Group Limited, as well as General Manager and Director of China Railway Engineering Corporation; From February 2025 to March 2025, he served as President and Executive Director of China Railway Group Limited, as well as Chairman of China Railway Engineering Corporation; Since March 2025, he has been serving as Chairman of China Railway Group Limited, as well as Chairman of China Railway Engineering Corporation.
